I've never been a big fan of the sailor look, but I certainly got a lot of attention when my mother paraded me around the French Quarter in this get-up and other attention-seeking garb.

I'm a writer and a librarian and have learned the hard way that neither of these activities are well suited to extroverts.  

I grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, and lived in Seattle for the last 14 years. I recently relocated to Pittsburgh, because it is like my hometown but without any of the people I went to high school with.

I love shopping and eating, but I'm running out of money and none of my pants fit.
